Twentieth Post From Türkiye: Spring Break Stop #1 Venice

I love traveling and I love taking pictures but I do not love getting home and being faced with the task of sorting through the pictures and editing them. And I don't love my husband pestering me to get the pictures edited and to get them up on the blog. The same blog that he used to make fun of me for starting. But I will do it. Mostly because I know that it will give Jess something to look at when she is up for a late night feeding. :)
Any-who, we went on a trip for Spring Break and it was sooo great! I have dreamed of going to Venice my whole life and Jack promised me that if we moved to Turkey we could go. And apparently now that I have been there and Truman has been to Legoland, Jack's obligations have been fulfilled and all future trips will be planned according to his desires. We will just have to make the most of being in Jack's army. I make him out to be a meanie but he did just take me to Venice so I can't complain.
We loved Venice, but we had some weird stuff happen to us there. First of all my luggage was lost by the airline. I have never had that happen to me before and I travel a lot, so I thought I was living some kind of charmed life and that it would never happen. But it did and I had to wear the same clothes for 3 days with no makeup. I was looking good. The first night there we wandered around after dark and it was beautiful, with hardly anyone out on the streets (most tourists go back to the mainland or their ships in the evenings) we came across an accordion street performer outside a church and he was playing Abba, and then after some pizza for dinner we headed home and found that the water had risen and we couldn't get back to our island. We had to make a long back track and were eventually able to make it. The next day we discovered that Venice is very busy over Easter weekend. Not just foreign tourists but lots of Italians pour into the city for the holiday. So that was fun. During our weekend in Venice we took some tours both walking and on boats. Ate lots of pizza and gelato washed down with Lemon Soda and fizzy water. Watched the video for Like a Virgin (made in Venice) at a cafe during lunch. People watched and decided we hate selfie sticks, the people who sell them and the people who buy them. All in all a great time.

Fun! We are headed there in a few weeks! We will be visiting your country too, but sadly not your town. We need to coordinate and meet up. We are thinking of a beach trip to Spain in August, but if you have something better......
