The kid in the backseat

Just a note: the balloon is actually tied to Truman's wrist. He fell asleep like this. AHH, isn't that sweet?
So today Truman and I were driving home from our library/toy store outing and I was listening to NPR (that's right I listen to NPR) and there was a piece on about art in Taiwan. Well from the back seat Truman asks me what Taiwan is. So I start to explain to him that it is a country and that it is near China and so on. So when I have given, what I think is a pretty good answer, he tells me that it sounds "unconvincing"! What the heck?! First of all, let me just say that he never believes anything I tell him, so that was nothing new, but where did he learn that word? Who does he know that talks like that? Does he watch law dramas at night when I am asleep? Seriously, who is that kid riding in the backseat of my car?

We Love History!

A little over a week ago we were walking home from Truman's soccer practice and we were trying to decide what to do with the rest of a beautiful Saturday. Well we thought we might like to take a little road trip up to Gettysburg, PA. When we got back to the house I looked at the Gettysburg website and noticed that at the adjacent Eisenhower farm they were hosting a WWII weekend with re-enactors. Well, that totally cinched it, we had to go! We spent a beautiful day learning about our country's history and Jack and Truman got to look at a whole lot of guns. What could be better?
