Last weekend Jack's sister Trina and her husband Jeff were supposed to come out to DC for a visit. But they had some scheduling conflict and were unable to make the trip. They had already booked a room at the Metro Center Marriott and could not cancel it, so... we HAD to use it for them. We went downtown and enjoyed a mini vacation in the city. We had dinner at a historic location, hung out in China town and went to the Portrait gallery. Truman loves staying in hotels and he really enjoyed this one, because he left his stuffed manatee in his bed while we went out for the day and when we got back the maid had wrapped him(manatee) up in a towel and laid him on the bed. It was so cute. Any way, thanks for the free room, Dahlke Family and we hope you can come another time and have some fun WITH us!

Jack's First Baptism
Jack had the opportunity to baptise someone for the first time about a week ago. A wonderful woman named Neta became a member of our church and we were so excited to be a part of her baptism. It was a little funny though, because the missionaries did not fill up the font as full as they should have and it took a couple of tries to get Neta fully submerged. Jack was a little nervous about it but Neta just took it all in her stride.

Ten Years
Jack and I celebrated our tenth anniversary this month and it is kinda exciting! It is exciting because I still think that being married to Jack is fun! He is such a great guy and we really are best friends! We still enjoy discussing all sorts of different ideas and topics and we still laugh at each other's jokes. I am grateful that I am married to a man who enjoys my company and makes our relationship a priority in his life and who puts up with a wife who listens to the Harry Potter books on tape every single day while she does the dishes! I guess I am happy that I didn't run out of the temple before the wedding ten years ago like I thought about doing!
