New York for Jack's Birthday 2018!

Jack has been trying to find the time and opportunity to visit Sagamore Hill for years and this year for his birthday he finally made it happen!
Sagamore Hill is Theodore Roosevelt's  home in Oyster Bay New York.
It was really beautiful there and a really interesting place to visit. If you are ever in that area I highly recommend a visit!

Beautiful Oyster Bay.

 Teddy's grave.
After Jack had satisfied his desire to visit the the 26th president's house we headed into the city.

Must have pizza while in New York. I think it's a city ordinance.
View from our room.
Saturday morning we headed out early to go to the Manhattan LDS Temple.

After a lovely morning in the Temple we headed out to see the City!
Grand Central Station
New York Public Library

Katz's Deli

 Greenwich Village

Washington Square Park

We had to wander around quite a bit because we "needed" to pass by Electric Lady Studios (Jimmy Hendrix) and 177A Bleecker Street (Sanctum Sanctorum/Dr. Strange).
A book store stop is also a necessity.

Washington Mews

Jack and his tribe hunting for obscure music together.
The next morning we needed to head for home but we stopped in to see St. Patrick's Cathedral before we hit the road.

We had such a fun time exploring the city and celebrating The Man's birthday. He really does make our lives better and happier everyday!

USA! USA! USA! Ending 2017 at Home.

Back in the homeland at last!
Soooo happy to be home! Everything feels familiar and normal and regular. It's a bit of a relief really!
So wonderful to be reunited with friends and family!
We dove right in with visits to Cape May, NJ for the Fourth of July with our best pals, the Willis and Walker Families!!!
Jack thrills the kids on the trampoline!
Aww, Jess!
Tender sunset moments!

Good to be back in Amurika!

Through the fall we had some fun enjoying stuff close to DC!
Monticello with my sister, Hillary and her husband Tom!

A weekend away together to see all the fall foliage on Skyline Drive in Virginia!

Christmas events in Philadelphia with the Bush Family!

We decided to spend our winter break somewhere a little bit warmer so we headed down to Charleston, SC the day after Christmas. It actually ended up being really cold there that week so that part of the plan was foiled but we still had so much fun exploring the city!
Fort Sumter

Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum

Christmas lights downtown and gorgeous lights on the College of Charleston Campus!

In the morning we drove out to see the amazing and serene Angel Oak Tree.

We took a walk through the swamp at the beautiful Caw Caw Interpretive Center!

Can't get over the Spanish Moss!
Back in town we walked along the Battery and all over just enjoying all of the charming details of Charleston!

It was a great trip! I would love to go again when it's not so cold!!
